After reading the English 110 syllabus, one thing that I have become excited about is the well detailed writing assignments. Although essays can be very overwhelming I am excited to improve my ability to write and comprehend different forms of writing. Since this is my first year of college I am a little nervous about my ability to write at an acceptable college level. I feel that as when I write I am not as clear and straight forward as I want to be.

The qualities of good writing heavily depend on the form of writing and the audience in which you are communicating with. However I feel that writers should maintain an organized and clear format. Certain qualities that a writer should have are a clear word choice, and a connection with readers are all qualities of a good writer. To write well I feel that you need to have an understanding of multiple point of views and be able to convey and express ideas accordingly. It is important to write properly so that the readers can properly understand, if not readers will not be able to get the point.

The easiest part of writing for me is incorporating my opinions into my writings and making text to world connections. The things I still need to work on is structuring my ideas into my writing, I feel that I run on and my thoughts and ideas are all over the place. I want to be able to have a well structured essay.

In my intended major I feel like there will be a lot of writing, my major is Psychology. The only thing that comes to mind is writing reviews on patients about diagnosis and brief notes. I believe that my ability to be a good writer is important not only for my major, but for a long time career. I will need to assess patients and be able to properly write about what is occurring with patients. My writing ability will not only be apart of my career but my everyday tactics.
